Canned Commands
A Canned Command is a command that you have configured previously (such as an image, link, or email) and can call up quickly while in a live chat by selecting it from a drop-down list without having to type the entire message out.
Accessing The Page To Manage Canned Commands
- To manage canned commands when you are logged into the Operator Home Pages click on the "Canned Commands" link in the top menu:

Creating A New Canned Command

- Assign a reference. The reference should give you an indication about what the canned command is. It is the reference that you will see in the drop-down list from a chat conversation window. Make this value unique and memorable for yourself for each canned command you set up.
- Choose a command type from the drop-down list beside the word "Command".

A Push:URL Command will open a new browser containing URL of web page, word document, image, etc.
An Email:name@domain.com Command will hyperlink the specified email address.
An Url:URL Command will hyperlink the specified URL
An Image:URL/sample.gif Command will embed the specified image.
- Type in the message. The message should be a URL to a web page, image, or document, or an email address depending on the chosen command type.
- Choose which department this canned command should be used for. If you would like it to be used for all your departments then select "All My Departments" from the drop-down list.
- Click on the "Submit" button to save the canned command. Once saved, it should appear in the list on that page.
Editing An Existing Canned Command
- Click on the "Edit" link beside the canned command you would like to edit. You are only able to edit canned commands that you have created. Canned commands that have been configured for you are unable to be edited.

- The reference, command type and message from the existing canned command will populate in the text boxes. Make any desired changes and click the "Submit" button. Any changes made will edit the chosen canned command, it will not create a new one.

Deleting An Existing Canned Command
- Click on the "Delete" link beside the canned response you would like to delete. You are only able to edit canned responses that you have created. Canned responses that have been configured for you are unable to be edited.

- Click "OK" to confirm the deletion of the canned response or click "Cancel" to cancel the operation.
Using Canned Commands
- From the Chat window choose the canned command you wish to send by selecting it from the drop-down beside "Commands". The drop-down will show the reference only, not the complete command.

- Click "Go" beside the chosen command to add the canned command to your chat box

- Click on the "Send" button to send the command to the visitor you are chatting with.
