Initiating a Conversation

  1. From the Chat Request Monitor click on the "Traffic Monitor" tab to see visitors currently on the page.

  3. Each visitor is listed by their IP address

  4. Click on the "Initiate" link beside the Options for the visitor you wish to initiate a chat with

  5. Initiate Chat

  6. Choose which department you would like the transcript for this conversation to be logged under.

  7. Choose the question or initiate message you would like to start the conversation with. For more information on initiate messages please click here

  8. Choose which initiate type you would like to send. You can send either a pop-up box or a scrolling image inviting the visitor to engage in a conversation. If the visitor's browser has a pop-up blocker detected then a scrolling image initiate type will be sent instead.

  9. Click the "Click to initiate chat with visitor." button to sent your chat initiation request to the visitor.

  10. If the user is already engaged in a live chat then you will see a message indicating such:
